WOOSTER – Rachel G. BASH, 89, of Wooster, died Saturday August 30, 2014 at Burbank Parke Care Center.
Born September 12, 1924 in Kenova, WV, she was the daughter of Charles and Obie Barnette.
She was a 1946 graduate of Huntington Memorial Hospital in Huntington, WV. as aRegistered Nurse. Rachel worked as a dental assistant for two dentists, did nursing in nursing homes, hospitals and for a short time was Director of Nursing in a hospital. She also worked as a telephone operator for the telephone co., did home nursing care and retired as a receptionist/secretary for the Catholic Commission. She was a member of the First Church of God on Akron Road.
Surviving are daughter, Marisa (Russell) Hofer of Cuyahoga Falls, and a son, Richard (Cheryl) Bash of Wooster; Grandchildren Russell and Jonathan Hofer, Arthur Dreibelbis, Catherine Hofer, Anita Hill, Sherree Morris, Sheila Zoss, Shellee (Rick) Perry, Elizabeth (Daniel) McCarthy and Tammy (John) Barrington. 14 Great-Grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Phyllis) Barnette of W. Salem.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold A. Bash, February 13, 1982, whom she married April 18, 1950, daughters Mary Morris and Barbara Conner granddaughter, Tiffany Munroe and a grandson Frank Garrett. Also, a brother, Jim Barnette and sisters Arbutus Jonas and Charlene Suboticki.
Per Rachel’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.
