WOOSTER “ Judith A. Bates, 74, of Wooster passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at her home.
She was born August 2, 1940 in Toronto, Ohio, the daughter of Sheldon and Beulah Cooper Westlake.   She married Walter Bates on September 22, 1962.   He survives.
She had worked in the Classified Ad. Dept. at the Steubenville Herald Star Newspaper and had worked as a waitress at the Best Western in Mansfield.   She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Wooster.
Judith enjoyed walking, exercising and the outdoors.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Diane (Rich) Hackett of Wooster and grandchildren, Sean, Staci and Sarah Hackett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother ™s Bob and Bill Westlake and sister ™s Marie Westlake and Carrie Gillis.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 4-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Fetterhoff officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
