WOOSTER “ Dorothy M. Nolt, 92, of Wooster passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1922 in Chester Township to Fred and Edna (Mowrer) Zimmerman.   She graduated from Smithville High School in 1939 and married George B. Nolt in 1945.   He preceded her in death in 2000.
She was the lunch lady at Grant Street Elementary and was a substitute organist for area churches and played for many weddings.   She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and participated in the Augsburg-Matins Circle and the prayer chain.   Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 68, Eight and Forty, West View Manor Auxiliary and Canton-Akron TRIO.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, watching the Buckeyes, Browns and the Indians, and following her grandchildren ™s and great-grandchildren ™s activities.   She enjoyed corresponding by card, letter and phone calls with her many friends and family throughout the year.   Dorothy had a gift for remembering and celebrating milestones with her wide circle of acquaintances and cherished the notes and cards she received in return.
Surviving are her children, Becky Nolt of Marietta, Barbara (Dean) Cornwell of Palm Harbor, FL, Sara (Bob) Barstow of Wooster, Connie (Dennis) Kincaid of Uniontown, Tom (Angela) Nolt of Tavernier, FL and Tim (Cindy) Nolt of Wooster.   She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and her sister, Ruby Redick.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, George R. Nolt, a sister Donna Robison and brothers Dale L. and Donald Zimmerman.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster with the Rev. Ann Paynter officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
