Mary Louise Smith, 93, passed away in her sleep Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Oct. 27, 1921, to Michael and Sophia (Jorg) Vogt. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas M. Beutler and her husband William Smith. Also recently preceded in death by her brother, Michael W. Vogt Sr.
Surviving are two daughters Mary Elizabeth Beutler, and Susan Williams and husband Paul; two grandchildren Paul and Megan Williams; one sister Bettie Burns of Cincinnati. She has extended family in Cincinnati, Indiana and Kentucky.
Mary graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s evening college, was a home maker and helped with her husband’s plumbing business. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and over the years she enjoyed volunteering with the Girl Scouts, Salvation Army, and Meals on Wheels.   Mary loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and their campsite. She was an avid bridge player and Bengal’s fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with the Rev. Augustine Dongseop Lee as celebrant.
Calling hours will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at  St. Mary Cemetery, 701 East Ross Ave., Cincinnati.
