WOOSTER Walter Kenneth Westover, 88, of Wooster passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Wayne Co. Care Center.
He was born August 4, 1926 in Beaverdale, Pennsylvania, the son of Walter M. and Leona Mae Brothers Westover. He married Juanita J. Wakefield on April 27, 1950. She survives.
He retired from the Wooster Brush Company and had worked at Rubbermaid, Ideal Dairy and Scott Geisinger Auto Dealership. He was a member of Central Christian Church and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, camping and spending time with family.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII with Troop F, Eighth Cavalry.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Keith A. (Diane M.) Westover of Wooster; grandchildren, Joshua P. (Debbie) Westover and Angela L. (Alex Ellis) Westover; great-grandchildren, Bryce A. Westover and Jeremiah David Westover and step-brother Edward Daily of Louisville.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Jeremiah P. Westover and brothers Edwin, Paul and Leroy and sisters Harriet, Lydia, Zannetta, Virginia and Anna.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Revs. Kevin Phipps and Rufus Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Mausoleum at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
