Rosemarie Jovina (DeJohn) Beck, 84, of Wooster died Friday January 9, 2015 at her home.  
Rosemarie was born in Pittsburgh, PA November 15, 1930 to Gilbert and Ana Maria (Miller) DeJohn.     She graduated from Oliver High School in 1948.   During the 1950 ™s she was a member of the Ground Observer Corps as an aircraft plotter with the U.S. Air Force Civil Defense Program, her job was to take calls from the ground observers and record aircraft locations on a board.   She also worked for the Bell Telephone Company.
Rosemarie met her future husband, Joseph A. Beck, on the beach at Virginia Beach, Virginia.   They were married June 6, 1953 at Regina Coeli Church in Pittsburgh by Rev. Luteri.   They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 6, 2013.   Joseph died April 26, 2014.   They lived in Pittsburgh until 1956 when they moved to Wooster.   Rosemarie worked for Maurer ™s Drug Store, Freedlander ™s and The Wooster Clinic, retiring from there in 1993.
In 1985, Rosemarie, with her daughter, Kathleen, traveled to Italy to visit her father ™s hometown of Cepagatti.   While there, mom met her cousins the DiGiovanni ™s and visited the home where her father was born.   She always remembered that time as a wonderful experience to finally meet her father Gilbert ™s side of the family.
Rosemarie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.   She enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, word puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows, sewing and making dresses for herself and her daughter.   She enjoyed cooking and baking her special honey cookies and Christmas cookies that her mother made for her as a child.   She loved her family very much and will be remembered as having a kind and gentle soul.
Surviving children Kathleen L. (David M. Eyestone) of Westerville, Lawrence E. Beck of Wooster, Alan B. (Brenda) Beck of West Salem and Kenneth J. Beck of Wooster; grandchildren Alan, Candace and Andrew Beck; great grandchildren Gavin and Cameron Beck and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gilbert R. (Audrey) DeJohn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster.   Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
