WOOSTER – Gladys M. Hartman, 100, of Wooster, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at West View Healthy Living.
She was born January 3, 1915 in Lattasburg, Wayne Co., the daughter of Harvey E. and Bernice Bowman Worst. She married Kenneth Hartman on October 8, 1938. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1998.
Gladys was a homemaker and a member of the Mohican Church of the Brethren where she had played the piano for 70 years.
Surviving are her children, Norma (Gerald) Stair, Stanley (Leanne) Hartman both of Wooster and Larry (Judy) Hartman of Ft. Gay, WV; grandchildren, Rick (Dianne) Stair, Karen Lendon, Jerry (Gale) Stair, Luke Hartman, Libby Hartman all of Wooster and Michelle (Carl) Cantebury of Louisa, Kentucky, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Gertrude Maria and a brother Carl Worst.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held at the Mohican Church of the Brethren, 7759 N. Elyria Rd., W. Salem, on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev’s Paul Bartholomew and Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Mohican Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Mom’s second family, the staff at West View Healthy Living, for the care she received.
