WOOSTER – Gerald M. Mike AUKERMAN, 75, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Majora Lane Care Center in Millersburg.
He was born August 12, 1939 in Wooster, the son of Glenn T. and G. Lucile Feiber Aukerman. He married Ruth M. Leighty on September 16, 1961. She survives.
He was a Supervisor for the City of Wooster Garage for 27 years and had worked for Lox Construction as a mechanic for 6 years. Mike was a member of the First Church of God for over 60 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Ruth, are his children, George Mike (Ann) Aukerman of Tenn. and Cynthia (Roger) Jackson of Wooster; grandchildren, Erin (Devin) Kornhaus, Eric (Danielle Smith) Aukerman, Jamie (Zac) Poore, Brianna (Josh) Hinkle, Patricia Jackson, Laura (Anthony) Brooks and Jonathan Jackson; 7 great-grandchildren and his siblings, Karen Sue (Lee) Fisher of Wooster, Margie (Jim) Lilley of Shreve, and Steve (Kathy) Aukerman of Conn and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Lou Franks and a brother, Duane Aukerman.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m.
