WOOSTER – Sybil Christine Stevens, 91, of Wooster passed away Monday, May 2, 2016, at Danbury Woods, Wooster, after an extended illness.
Sybil was born in Weehawken, New Jersey on April 10, 1925, the daughter of Harvey and Lillian(Blakey) Strickland. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Sybil workedas an executive secretary and served for many years as village clerk in Old Field, New York.
Sybil enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She had a passion for traveling inher motor home, reading, playing bridge and casino games.
Surviving are sister, Marion Sheehan; children, Christine (Jeff) Cornelius, Brian Stevens andRobin Gigax; six grandchildren Debbie Danforth, Dale Young, Brian Gigax, Travis (Beth) Gigax,Tyler (Amy) Stevens and Kathleen (Joe) Prudell. Three great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. Dear family friend Clark Howell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; parents; siblings Lillian and Harvey.
A private service will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntire, Bradham and Sleek Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Danbury Woods and LifeCare Hospice. The respect and love they showed their mother cannot be over stated.
