Elizabeth Rogowski (Horvath), 89, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Friday Morning August 12th, 2016 with her family by her side at West View Healthy Living in Wooster, Ohio.
Elizabeth was born in Medina Ohio on April 7th, 1927 the middle of three children whose parents Anton and Elizabeth had emigrated from Hungary and started Tony s Candy Kitchen in the downtown square in Medina, Ohio.
She attended art school in Cleveland after high school and worked as a commercial artist for Ohio Bell drawing advertisements for the Yellow Pages while raising her family. Elizabeth went by numerous nicknames throughout her lifetime. She was known as Betty (growing up), Liz, mom (of course), red grandma (because she most always had a red car), GG (because she got to see and enjoy her great grandchildren) and lastly Giggles (because she always had a smile and a chuckle for the people who cared for her during her last nine years at West View Healthy Living).
She was the devoted mother of Victoria (Andy) Zupko and Kathy (Rick) Smeltzer; grandchildren Jenny (Phil) McFarren, Jackie (Mark) Smeltzer and Ashley (Greg) Hanna. Liz is the great grandmother of Tyler and Nicholas McFarren, Dakota and Lola Rowland, Lyla Hanna and Bella Lers.
She was the best mom, grandmother, great grandmother in the whole world. She lied an unselfish life with a love for others.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 4:00 PM at West View Healthy Living Chapel, 1715 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster with Pastor Kirk Fairhurst officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, August 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Wooster Cemetery.
