WOOSTER – Frederick William œFritz  Horn, 86, passed away peacefully August 19, 2016 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Mr. Horn was born November 12, 1929 to the late William and Mabelle G. (Casner) Horn in Wooster, Ohio.   Married August, 1950 to Norma Mae (Bruce), they were married for 66 years and Mrs. Horn, who survives him, served as his devoted caregiver during his final years.
Frederick Horn graduated from Wooster High School and attended the Wooster Business College. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years and was employed in the grocery business for 25 years, working for the Kroger Company for 23 years and served as the manager for the Wooster Kroger store.
Mr. Horn began a second career in 1972 in new car sales for Walter Bates Inc. and worked for 23 years at the same location under several owners until his retirement in 1995.
He was the proud father of two children, son Gregory Bruce Horn (Cathleen) of Centerville Ohio and daughter Holly L. Horn (Kathleen) of New York, NY., and three Grandsons: Justin Elliott Horn (Amanda), great “ granddaughter Kirsten Lee of Anderson Twp., OH; Zachary Tyler Horn (Lindsay), great-grandson Zion Tyler of Mason, OH; and Gregory œAlex  Horn (Claire) of Bexley, OH.   He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Fritz Horn was a member of the Parkview Christian Church. He was proud of his heritage as a descendant of one of Wooster ™s pioneer families and always looked forward to the Wayne County Fair and the celebration of patriotic holidays.
The entire Horn family expresses its sincere appreciation to Dr. Lance and the compassionate LifeCare Hospice staff and to all of Mr. Horn ™s family, friends, clergy and devoted care providers that helped make his last days comfortable and peaceful.
Frederick Horn was preceded in death by his parents William & Mabelle G. Horn, brothers William Childs Horn and Richard William Horn, sisters Virginia Angert and Jeanette Horn (Infant).
Fritz Horn will be remembered for his warm smile, his love of family, backyard gatherings with family and friends, and his zest for life.   He enjoyed his home of 60 years, loved driving his convertible on bright sunny days and he truly cherished each day provided by his Lord and Savior.
Family & Friends will be received at the McIntire Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, Wooster, Ohio on Monday evening, August 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Brian White followed by a luncheon will be held at the Parkview Christian Church, 1912 Burbank Rd., Wooster on Tuesday, August 23 at 11 a.m.
