Together Again
SMITHVILLE Beverly Jane Thompson, 89, of Smithville passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born February 3, 1927 in Canton, the daughter of Joseph Leonard and Mary Olive Marshall Arnold. She married Rev. O. J. Thompson in 1946. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2016.
She had been a secretary for three lawyers in Canton, a secretary for the Nurses at the Lima Schools and had been a saleslady at Freedlanders. She was a member of the Great Lakes Conference of Churches of God.
She is survived by her children, Rodney (Deborah) Thompson of Orrville and Ned (Dawn) Thompson of Venice, Florida and 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth Thompson, a daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Thompson and her siblings, Aimee Minger, George, Robert, Frank, Jack and Leslie Arnold.
Friends will be received on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m at the First Church of God, 1953 Akron Rd., Wooster with the Revs. Ben Thompson and Arnie Kauffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Smithville Cemetery.
