WOOSTER “ John Herman Ziegler, 84, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Wooster Community Hospital.
He was born August 9, 1932 in Dover, the son of Herman and Edith Engel Ziegler.   He married Jeanette G. Arner on April 26, 1997.   She survives.
John was a 1950 graduate of Dover High School, received his Bachelor ™s in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mississippi and his Master ™s Degree in Business from the University of Akron.   He had been the Wooster Plant Manager at the Timken Company.   John was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and a former member of the Ripley Church of Christ.
He was a past president of the Wooster Chamber of Commerce, the Wayne Co. Library Board, the Triway School Board and a former advisor of Junior Achievement.   He was a member of the Iron and Steel Engineers.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1955 during the Korean Conflict in Japan and Korea.
In addition to his wife, Jeanette, he is survived by his daughter, Linda (Mark) Kotur of Columbus, 2 nephews and 1 niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received on Friday, January 13, 2017 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. service at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin and Rev. Paul Barnes officiating.   Burial will follow in the Wooster Cemetery.
