Virginia J. McCarrick, 92, of Wooster passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Smithville Western Care Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1925 in Wooster the daughter of Virgil and Jessie Shelly James.   On Sept. 1, 1946 she married Duane Shearer who preceded her in death in 1965.   On Nov. 8, 1983 she married Robert McCarrick who preceded her in death in 2005.
Virginia was a 1943 graduate of Wooster High school.   She had retired as a lab assistant from the OARDC.   She was a member of the Union Grange and had volunteered at the Red Cross and the Grange Fair dinners for many years.   She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Surviving is a son; David Shearer, of Fredericksburg, 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.   Siblings: Francis James of Randallstown, MD, Forrest James of Orrville, Robert James of Fredericksburg, Richard James of Wooster, Dolly Mann of Wooster and Evelyn Musselman of Apple Creek.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, 3 children: Deanna Crone, Bonnie Marti and Becky Lynn Shearer, an infant brother and an infant great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday May 17, 2017 at the Moreland United Methodist Church 138 E. Moreland Rd. Wooster, Ohio 44691 with Rev. Tom Fish officiating.   The family will receive friends at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home 216 E. Larwill St. Wooster, Ohio 44691 on Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 6-8 P.M.
