WOOSTER – Shirley Ann Clogg, 86, of Wooster passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017, with family close by, at Wesley Glen Retirement Community in Columbus.
She was born March 27, 1931 in Akron, OH, the daughter of James F. and Lavern Dando Ross. Shirley graduated from Kenmore High School and Akron University, where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.   She taught in the elementary for the Westfield schools, opening its first kindergarten. She met her husband George Pete Clogg in Leroy and they married August 15, 1953.
Shirley was an active member of the Leroy United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She then directed the choir for many years. She also sang with and then directed the Cloverleaf Mother Singers.
Shirley enjoyed playing bridge, gathering for supper club, flower gardening, decorating and producing memorable celebrations for her family.
Surviving are her daughters Betsy L. Holbrook of Johnstown and Judy Foley of West Dundee, IL; 6 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband on December 28, 2008, her parents, a son, Peter Ross Clogg on March 20, 2002, brothers, James N. and Richard E. Ross and sisters, Betsy Ball and Sara Jane Chedester.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 18 at 11 a.m. at the Leroy United Methodist Church in Westfield Center.   Friends may call one hour prior to the service.   Burial will be at the Westfield Center Cemetery.
