WOOSTER Leah A. Rogers, 83, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
She was born January 24, 1934 in Wayne County, the daughter of Glenn D. and Nora Snurr Robert. Her husband, John R. Rogers, preceded her in death on November 17, 2003.
She worked as a secretary for over 45 years at Timken Roller Bearing Co. in Wooster retiring in 2000. Leah was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Apple Creek. Leah enjoyed quilting and sewing and had won several awards for her quilts at the Wayne Co. Fair.
Surviving are her step-children, Tamara Rogers of Kentucky, Ginger (Steve) Boss and Roxanne Madigan both of Wooster; 4 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Edna Merriman of Dalton, Esther Lucas of Uniontown, Glenn S. (Lynn) Robert of Canton, Martha (Bill) Weekley and Glenda Farver both of Wooster, Shirley (Richard) Gillies of Los Fresnos, Texas and a brother-in-law, Harry Wentland of Strongsville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Viola Wentland and a brother, David Robert.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster with the Rev s Stephen Broache and Jacquelyn McMillen officiating. Burial will follow in the Apple Creek Cemetery.
