WOOSTER “ Thelma Joanne Funk, 73, died peacefully on February 1, 2018 surrounded by her family at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 55 years, Larry; daughters, Julie (James) Becker and Jodi (Tim) Dever, and a son, Jim Funk; grandchildren Garrett and Grant Dever and a brother Andy (Brenda) Shearer.
She was preceded by her parents, a brother Larry Shearer and a sister, Susie Hill.
Joanne grew up in Wayne County, graduating from Northwestern High School in 1962.   She was employed at Rubbermaid for 26 years.   Larry and Joanne raised their family near Lattasburg and later moved to their farm near New Pittsburg.   Joanne was happiest being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.   Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life.   She loved attending their various activities and sporting events.   Her love of travel, especially by airplane, allowed her to see much of the U.S.
Family and friends may call Monday, February 5 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.   Respecting Joanne ™s wishes, the immediate family will hold a private service.   Private family burial will be held at the New Pittsburg Cemetery.
