WOOSTER Mary Jane Black, 94 of Wooster passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at West View Healthy Living.
She was born June 1, 1924 in Wooster, the daughter of Francis and Flo Baney Zarlengo. She married Robert Black on July 18, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1993.
Mary Jane had been an Administrative Assistant at the AAA in Wooster. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America, an avid bridge player (card shark), and a seamstress. She had knitted a lot of memories for a lot of people and had quilted for all of her family.
Surviving are her children, Michael (Sharon) Black of Columbus, Patrick (Trice) Black and Jonathan (Carolyn) Black both of Wooster; grandchildren, Shannon Pyers, Nick Black, Heather Black, Lindsay Workman, Holly Henderson, Andy Black and Alison Keiner; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Pyers, Caroline Henderson, James and John Rockwood, Kash, Harper and Piper Workman and a brother, Stephen (Susan) Zarlengo of Wooster.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Richard Samide officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Mary June touched the lives of many with her many talents. Our grandchildren and great grandchildren all received a “copy” of her teddybear and many delicious cookies.
