CYPRESS, TEXAS – It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the March 30th, 2019 passing of Ellen Warnes Winkler. Ellen was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Susan Keller Warnes and Gordon Christian Warnes on September 17th, 1961.
Ellen graduated from Wooster High School in 1979 and from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textiles and Clothing/Merchandising/ Management in 1983. Ellen lived most of her life in Wooster, Ohio and recently moved to Cypress, Texas in 2018 to work for General Motors as a Territory Manager.
Ellen’s professional career spanned retail merchandising as well as many years in finance as a Business Manager for car dealerships in the Wooster area.
Ellen was most known for her vivacious personality, laughter, her love for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and her unending love for her family.
Ellen is survived by her precious children, daughter Jaime Lynne (Winkler) Orr (Brett) of Orrville, son Bryan William Winkler (Chante) of West Valley City, Utah, grandchildren Brooklyn, Hailey and Morgan Orr, Lyla Winkler, and Jovany and Jazlyn Lobato. Ellen is also survived by her father, Gordon Warnes (Delores) of Salem, South Carolina, her sister, Julia Warnes (Jeff Burrill), and nephews Andy and Sam Slutz of Huron, Ohio.
Ellen was with her beloved dog and best friend, Archie, at the time of both their deaths. Ellen was preceded in death by her children’s father, Brad Winkler, and by her mother, Susan Warnes.  
A Celebration of Ellen’s life will be  held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Church of the Saviour, 480 Fry Rd., Wooster.   The family will greet friends following the service.
The family requests that all who are able to attend Ellen ™s memorial wear Ohio State colors (scarlet and gray) and/or Ohio State logo clothing to celebrate Ellen.
Contributions may be sent to a go fund me account which has been set up on Jamie Orr’s facebook page.
