Mary Ruth Leighty, 101, a resident of Cape Coral, FL since 1980, formerly of Wooster, OH passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 in Cape Coral, FL. She was born July 14, 1917 in Reed City, MI to Jesse and Gertrude Bailey, now deceased.
Mary was a friend to everyone she met. No matter what she always had a positive attitude and a beautiful smile. Her friends refer to her as an angel. She will be missed by all who knew her. Mary was preceded in death by her three husbands, Paul Gilmore, Richard Leighty and Joe Leighty; her beloved son, Ronald E. Gilmore; as well as her step-son, Donald Leighty; as well as her eight siblings, Lockeven, Ralph, Howard, Edna, Robert, Maxie, Irene and Carolyn.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Minch of Bryant, IN; two step-grandsons, Mark Leighty and Mike Leighty both of Ohio; one step daughter-in-law, JoAnne Leighty of Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 ·5:00 PM, Monday, April 22, 2019 at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL. Burial will take place in Wooster Cemetery in Wooster, OH.
