Alfred Ernest Koch, 91, of Wooster died Saturday, September 07, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living.
He was born September 1, 1928 in Cuyahoga County to Conrad and Katherine Lendl Koch.   On October 7, 1950, he married Marrian Nemunaitis.   She survives.
Alfred had worked at ODOT and retired in 1989.   He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Army.   He enjoyed woodcarving, hunting, fishing, farming and gardening and bird watching.   Alfred was a huge Cleveland Indians fan.
Along with his wife, he is survived by his children Tim (Michele) Koch of Orrville, Laurie (Marc) Heffner of Olympia, WA, Patricia (James) Burns, Tom (Terrie) Koch both of Wooster, Steven (Gretchen) Koch of Columbus and Christine (Steven) Shepherd of Lakeville; grandchildren Tyler (Nicole), Wayne (Brianne) and Jason Heffner, Michelle and Katie Burns, Lauren (Tyler) Chaplin, Andrew (Navya) Koch,   Taylor Koch, and Rachel Koch; 3 great-grandchildren and a brother Joe Koch of Tucson, AZ.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Gabe and  Laura Koch and siblings Trudy Miller, Ed Lendl and Catherine Katie Fort.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Senior Living for all of their care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 12 Noon at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran officiating.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church on Thursday.  
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. I remember fondly your family and the friendship our parents and family shared…. My dad, Ed Kiczek sold your parents the farm you owned at the corner of Williams and Camp Rds in Homerville Ohio. My sister was a classmate of my sister Pat Kiczek… Laurie you were in my class of 71 at Black River HS… Your family attended St Stephens church where we continue to be members. Your parents often invited Mom and Dad over to play cards at your house… All good memories of a good family. I am sorry to learn of Mr Kochs passing. Please know we will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.
