WOOSTER – Richard Eugene DePew, 79, of Wooster, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Wednesday morning September 25, 2019.
Richard or Dick as he was affectionately known was born on February 1, 1941 to Vance and Dessie Ola DePew. He was a longtime resident of Wooster, Ohio. Dick was a retired machinist at Euclid Spiral.   He was a horse enthusiast who enjoyed a lifelong love of horse riding and training.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Roy Vance and Dessie Ola (Shaffer) DePew as well as two siblings Pauline and Robert and a beloved daughter Lisa Marie.
He is survived by two brothers Charles and Jerry, two loving children, daughter Theresa Rose and son Eric, grandchildren Alan, Robyn and Heather, great granddaughter Holly Noel, numerous nieces and nephews and his longtime companion of forty years, Joan Swick. He was embraced by the Swick family and is remembered by Joan’s sister Florence and her husband Brad, her brother Tom Brinkerhoff and her niece Cathy and her husband John Buehler as a fond member of the family.
No services will be held per Dick’s wishes he will be cremated.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster assisted the family.
