SMITHVILLE – Nancy Louise Holt, Age 66, passed away peacefully at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 11, 1953 to the late Warren and Mabel Jordan. Nancy graduated from the Joint Vocational School in 1971 and she married Charlie Holt, Jr. on January 20, 1973, he survives. They were residents of Smithville where they raised their two children, Ammey and Keith.
She worked in her parents restaurants for many years and was a stay-at-home mother. She started a career later in life at Smith Dairy in Orrville in customer service and retired from the IT Department in December 2011. She has many cherished friends from the Dairy.
Nancy loved her grandchildren with all her heart, she referred to them as her 4 JOES, Jackson (McNally), Owen (McNally), Easton (Holt) and Savena (Holt) and enjoyed trips with Charlie to the mountain in VA to visit Keith and his family. She never met a stranger and always livened up the room when she walked in.   She enjoyed traveling and loved celebrating birthdays in a big way. She and Charlie had a lot of adventures together and took a trip of a lifetime to Alaska. She had another wonderful trip to Ireland with her sister, Linda.   She was proud of completing triathlons and 5K races and she appreciated the long-time friendships of her very close high school friends, Sharon Howard and Ruth McCoy. Her flowerbeds were always beautiful and she loved crocheting dishcloths. Nancy also made a lot of special friends during her cancer journey and touched a lot of people ™s lives.
Life was all about great adventures for Nancy. She will be dearly missed by her husband of almost 47 years, her daughter, Ammey (Rod) Frank, son Keith (Natasha) Holt, her four grandkids and her sister Linda Skalsky, two brothers, Tom and Jim Jordan and sisters-in-law, Becky Holt and Karen Holt and her mother-in-law Louise Holt. Many nieces and nephews who referred to her as Auntie Nanc will miss her as well.
She was preceded in death by her brother Wayne and her parents.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Art Carr officiating.   A graveside committal service will be held at the Smithville Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.

Thank you for sharing with me your wife and or mother. The faithfulness that she showed by her deeds and actions was exemplary. She treated us as if we were her boys. May Nancy always be remembered in the hearts that have known her.

  15. We were blessed to have met Nancy after Keith married our niece. Nancy was always a joy to be around. It was so touching, just a few weeks upon the passing of Tammy’s mom, Nancy posted a sweet memory of her. Even during her own suffering, Nancy thought of others. We send our love and prayers to the family that you may find comfort in the precious memories you have.
