WOOSTER “ Joan D. Nau, 77, of Wooster passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Joan was born September 5, 1942 in Caldwell, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche Mallett Forshey.   She married Harold J. Nau on September 17, 1960.   He preceded her in death on January 12, 2018.
She was a 1960 graduate of Elk Local High School and retired from the U.S. Post Office after over 30 years of service.   Joan was a very active member of St. Mary Catholic Church.   She enjoyed gardening, loved her dog, Gracie and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, Michael (Deb) Nau of Wooster; son-in-law, Mark Novelli of Wooster; grandchildren, Kyle (Niki) Marcum of Wooster, Dana (Ed) Bailey of Brecksville, Brittany (Sean) Griffin of Conway, SC, Tyler Joseph Nau of Wooster, Jared Michael Nau of Wooster; step-grandchildren, Chad (Sarah) Novelli of Columbus, Erin Novelli of N. Canton, Jason (Stacie) Novelli of Fairlawn, Jarret Himes of Wooster; great-grandchildren, Owen Bailey, Myles Bailey, Reinette Griffin; step-great-grandchildren, Mya Novelli, Maria Novelli, Julien Novelli and Marco Novelli; a sister, Darlene Kehl of Columbus and a brother, Carl Forshey of Green Cove Springs, FL.
In addition to her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Michelle Novelli and siblings, Brady Dean Forshey, Ronald Forshey, Harold Forshey and Donna Dee Rossiter.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Samide as celebrant.   Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  4. So sorry for your loss. Joan was a wonderful person. I worked with her at the Wooster Post Office for 15 yrs. There were 3 Joans’ then and to keep them all straight she will be forever “Joan Nau” in my heart.
