WOOSTER – J. Joan Ames Rodhe, 74, of Wooster passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born October 13, 1945 in Washington Township, Ohio the daughter of Raymond and Jessie Rowe Ames.
Joan had worked several years at The College of Wooster before more recently working for RBB Systems, in Wooster, until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed cooking, working at home and being outdoors. Joan most of all enjoyed her family and her dogs.
Surviving are her children, her son Steven (Sylvia) Kaser of Taylor, Texas, her son Philip (Elly) Kaser of Wooster, and her daughter Julie (Aaron) Mackey of Shreve; 4 granddaughters (3 in Texas and 1 in Orrville) and 3 great-grandchildren; her siblings Clara Crider of Millersburg, Martha Gilbert of Coshocton, Millie Greegor of Dalton, Barbara Mitchell of Wooster, Richard Ames of Wooster, Dale Ames of Killbuck, Luther Ames of Hudson, Florida, and Marsha Robinson of Navarre; and her good friend Roger Bevington.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brothers William Ames and Bruce Ames; sisters Virginia Barnhart, Shirley Martin, Patricia Russell, and 3 infant sisters.
Private family services will be held.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  3. Oh this poked my heart so strongly just hearing this. My precious beautiful friend. I am so heartbroken to learn of this. She always carried such a beautiful smile. I will forever cherish the memories we shared and miss her dearly.
