Visitation
Joy Roupe was my fourth grade teacher. She was so encouraging to me and I will never forget her wrapping me in a big, congratulatory hug when I came back to her class to gather my coat and backpack after winning the school spelling bee. She was a wonderful teacher and left a legacy in the students she taught.
My deepest condolences to your family. I had Mrs. Roupe several years in middle school and she was apart of some of my favorites memories in middle school. God Bless you and your family.
My deepest sympathies to Robyn and her family. Your mom was my 4th grade teacher at Joshua Dixon Elementary. She was a fantastic teacher and impacted young minds with pure grace. I have many fond memories of your mom even after fourth grade. I remember visiting her classroom as a high school student just to say hi! May she rest eternal.
Robyn – I am so sorry to learn of your Mom’s passing. It is a difficult journey that we’re never really prepared for. It makes me smile to remember how your Mom tolerated our shenanigans when we played at your house. Remember the summer we spent making “potions” out of every goopy product we could find in the house? I wish you and your family peace and healing.
Joy was a kind and welcoming friend to our mother when she moved into Brookdale. Joy shared her love of nature, especially birds and flowers, and she was gracious in all ways. Her sense of humor came shining through, as did her concern for others. Our love to you all and our thanks for having Joy be part of our lives.
Robyn and family, Joy was a joy; not only to her students but her colleagues as well! She not only touched many lives, she enhanced them! Her enthusiasm for teaching certainly carried through to her students! I can still hear her voice calling me….hey Coach! Rest in peace my friend!
