  1. Maurer Family:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Carol was very kind and Maurer family (Carol) taught me about hard work which made me a better person today.
I’ll always remember working on the farm as a kid and Carol writing my paycheck each week.

  5. Dave, Roger, and Susan, What a wife and mother Carol was. It was a privilege working for Maurer Farms from 5th grade through college. I received an education from working on the farm far greater than any college degree. Carol was a big part of that education. Of course Dave contributed greatly also. Carol was always telling me to think and be safe during the work day. Farms can be dangerous and Carol made sure that was always in my head. Hard work was the trademark of the Maurer family, and that was reinforced everyday and continued to benefit me throughout my working career.

God blessed your family and many many others with her. Rest in peace Carol, job well done!

  6. Dear Roger, Susan, and Dave- I am so sad to hear of Carol’s passing. What a joy and privilege it was to work alongside Carol for many years at your family farm. We had many laughs together and she was great to have as one of my first bosses. I enjoyed coming back to the Maurer farm throughout my years away from Wooster and always being warmly greeted by Carol- she always asked how I was, where I was, and how may family was. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sadness and loss.

  10. Roger and Susan – I’m so sorry about your mother’s passing. I have so found memories from years of picking strawberries at your farm while growing up. I always try to get Mauer’s strawberries or corn on the cob when in Wooster. She always greeted me warmly. Condolences to you and your families.

  14. Dave, Roger, and family. My condolences to you and your family. I’ve known Carol even before starting my career at the stores 45 years ago. She left an impression of a very hard-working person, not unlike all the family working on the Maurer farm. She will be missed

Carol was one of a kind, my first boss, my “second mom” growing up, and my best friend’s mother. She will be truly missed by all who knew her including the entire Wooster community. She was one of the hardest working women I have ever known and I am grateful to have so many wonderful memories to reflect on. God Bless. RIP. Much love.
