WOOSTER “ Michelle R. Leighty 66, of Wooster passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 after a long declining battle with cancer.
She was born December 23, 1953 in Orrville the daughter of Robert and Jeanne Mertz Singer.
Michelle had worked as a camera technician for Bell and Howell for 15 years.
She was an amazing wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.   Michelle was very kind and generous.   She loved to help her friends and family.   Michelle enjoyed so many things including horseback riding, vacations at the beach and fishing.
She was the best great aunt I could ask for.   She had a very special way of showing her love.   Her time in this world was valued dearly.   Her memories will always be honored by her loved ones.
Surviving are her beloved husband Thomas Leighty; sons Timothy (Lyndsey) Leighty and Steven (Crystal) Byers; siblings Jane (Wilbert) Ott and Jeffrey Singer; niece Wendy Jarred; great-nieces Ashley (Adam) Copley and Danielle Armstrong; grandchildren Jade Leighty, Brianne Byers and Dylan Byers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John Singer, a nephew Jerry Moore, a sister-in-law Joyce (Jeffrey) Singer and her sweet cat Miss Molly.
There will be no calling hours.   A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  4. Your family has my deepest sympathy. Michelle and I were childhood friends. Her parents and my parents got together from time to time. Would often be there on the forth of July to watch the fireworks. I have some good memories. I will keep you in my prayers.

  5. Years pass and friend travel in diffrent direction Michelle was my neighbor as I was a little kid.fished rode horses with her RIP Michelle.

  6. As a young kid, Michelle and I were neighbors. I have lots of memories of spending time with Michelle-anything to do with horses was our favorite activity! I am sorry to hear of your loss and send you my condolences and prayers.
