Ronald Eugene œRon  Ackerman, 70, of Wooster died on Friday, October 30, 2020 at his home.
He was born March 5, 1950 in Wooster to Frederick and Dorothy Baker Ackerman.   On May 12, 1984, he married Susan Wolf.
Ron got an associate ™s degree in accounting from Lorain Community College.   He attended West Hill Baptist Church.   After his retirement as a farm machinery salesman, he worked part time for Steiner Lumber in Smithville and was an avid Smucker taste panelist.   He loved his family and attending his grandchildren ™s sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; children Melissa Ackerman of Apple Creek, Chad (Laura) Griffith of Canal Fulton, Matt Ackerman of Mt. Cobb, PA, Tiffany Salyers of Delta and Mitchell (Krisanne Cuellar) Ackerman of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren Kale and Karissa Leckrone, Carly Larios, Dylan McManus, Devin Griffith, Ashley and Alec Ackerman, Ian, Jaydin, Dominic and Tyler Salyers; siblings Thomas (Juleah) Ackerman of Shreve, Lloyd (Lilia) Ackerman, Nancy (Dan) Burkhart, Victoria (Wayne) Pruitt all of Wooster, Dale R. Ackerman of Fredericksburg, Susan (Andy) Morris of TN, James (Kathy) Ackerman and Amy (John) Scott both of Fredericksburg along with many nephews and nieces.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Gavin Griffith and William Salyers and a brother William C. Ackerman.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 5 at 10:00 AM at West Hill Baptist Church, 2241 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating.   Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the church in the Wingate Chapel.   Please enter through Door #5 on the North end of the building.
Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

    I’m lost for words on what to say in the face of such a difficult loss. Just want you to know that I care about you, and I share in your sadness. I remember meeting Ron and feeling such a welcoming warmth that has stayed with me because that is something so very rare to friend in a person.
