WOOSTER Jack Lee Schubert, 75, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Ohio s Hospice LifeCare.
He was born December 17, 1944 in Shawnee to Nelson C. and Catherine McLaughlin Schubert. On May 9, 1965 he married Lola Barnes.
Jack served in the U.S. Army, was a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, the American Legion and the Elks. He had been a self-employed independent manufactures representative for over 25 years retiring in 2011. Jack enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his wife Lola, sons Darren (Barbara) Schubert of Geneva, IL and Scott (Nicole) Schubert of Cumming, GA; grandchildren Zoë Schubert, Marietta Landwehr and Annika Schubert and a brother Robert (Virginia) Schubert of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carolyn Dondrea.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic there will be no public services. Private graveside services for the immediate family will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

I want to express my sympathy to the Schubert family. I did business with Jack for over 20 years. He was a guy’s guy. Fun loving and a friend to all. He will be missed in the golf business and the Northern Ohio PGA. I had alot of laughs with Jack. He called it as he saw it and I liked that. My sympathy and prayers go out to the family. I know he was always proud of his family.

He was my golf mentor and used to say to me, “ I do what you tell me when I’m in your office and you need to do what I tell you when you’re in mine,” (the golf course). To Lola, Bob, Darren, and family, I want to extend my condolences on the passing of Jack. I got to know him and Bob during my years at Wooster (1971-1975). I was a member of the golf team and played many rounds of golf with Jack. He was a great supporter of the golf team and I always appreciated that support. I still have and wear an Ashworth golf windbreaker Jack gave to the 1975 team about ten years ago at one of our reunions. He always had a smile and was a fun person to be around. May your memories of Jack give you comfort In the years to come.
I will forever remember Jack’s quick smile and golf knowledge that he brought to every conversation. I will always remember jumping into Bob Nye’s van with Bob, George Valentine, and Jack and driving to the PGA Merchandise show where he got his first job in the golf business. He started with the Stan Thompson Company selling the popular “Ginny” line of clubs. His success withe that company led him to a relatively new company called Ashworth. With Fred Couples as the marquis endorser and with Jack on the sales force, the Ashworth Company really took off. I played enough golf with both Jack and Bob in the early 70’s that I could always tell them apart and was always surprised that others struggled with the identification. Jack played a few rounds every year at the Wooster Country Club and he stopped in on “official” golf business so I got to see him often and would find out the real scoop on northern Ohio golf. I was fortunate to be picked up at my car when the retired PGA guys would play at Riceland Golf Course. He was the great guy who picked me up just because he knew I was going to be there that day. I know that he went through a lot the last ten years but that smile always came through the phone or in that short cart ride. I am so glad that he was a part of my life and so sorry that he no longer is.just

Condolences to my friends Darren and Scott, as well as all members of Jack’s extended family. I knew Jack in his golf sales rep role, but also as a Wooster community member and supporter of College of Wooster Men’s Golf. Jack was about my current age when I followed Coach Nye in coaching the Fighting Scots. “Schu” was unfailingly attentive and friendly to me as a young coach….yes, he dug the needle in on more than a few occasions, but it always ended in a good laugh shared. That is, and will always be, my enduring memory – that Jack Schubert was ALWAYS ready to enjoy a laugh! I miss you Jack, and those good old days.

So sorry to hear about my friend and Ashworth brother “Shuby”. I have many fond memories or our times at sales meetings and the merchandise show. We were always laughing at the stupid things managers were doing. He had a good run and loved his family.I will miss him.

No matter what he was going through, he always put on a happy face and would joke around with anyone (especially the kids!!)! I loved spending time at his house with Mike and our kids. Everyone always had a great time with the greatest company. It is obvious by these posts how loved he was. I know that it has been a hard road through all of this. I am so sorry that I can’t be there, but know that you are all in my thoughts!!! Love you!!!
To the Schubert family I am so sorry for your loss, that is a great picture of Jack and that is how I remember him with great smile and and fun spirit. I enjoyed working with him in my years at Firestone country club and running into him at Riceland at junior golf events. He will be missed but not forgotten RIP Jack.
I have very fond memories of Jack. During my “formative” years in high school and through four years of college, Jack was always around the golf course working on his game just as hard as the rest of us were doing. A few times, the team was extremely fortunate in that he took time off work to chaperon us during our spring break trip to play tournaments in Florida. Jack was even tempered and had a quick smile. He was fun to be around. I really looked up to him as a role model. I played hundreds of rounds of golf with him and I can’t remember a single unpleasant time. He was truly a special person who we all will miss.
