Leslie œLes  R. Posey, 95, of Sandusky, formerly of Holmesville passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
He was born July 27, 1925 in Buckhannon, WV to Colonel L. and Mable Ratcliff Posey.
Les served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and following his discharge, he moved to Ohio.   He worked at the Ohio Boxboard and then later worked for and retired from Republic Steel in Canton.   He had been a part time school bus driver for Southeast Local Schools and had also been a volunteer firefighter with East Union Township for 28 years.   Les had been a member of the American Legion Post 147, the VFW Post 3446 and the 40&8 for many years.
He enjoyed working in his workshop, yard work, his animals, hunting, fishing and helping others in any way he could.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Ken) Burns of Wooster and Helen Selders of Colorado Springs; a son Donnie (Robin) Posey of Wilton, NH; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother Arthur Posey; and his former wife, Mary Posey of Apple Creek.
Les was preceded in death by his sisters Margaret Hoover, Virgie Posey and Sarah Reed; brother Homer Posey and Calvin Posey; daughter Selvia Baron; grandson Tracy Braden and granddaughter Tonya Braden.
Graveside services will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve Nationals Cemetery in Seville on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 10:30 AM.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank Marge of Catholic Charities for all of her help, care, compassion and love given to Les over the years.

  3. Les was a proud American and did not hesitate to tell you so. Whenever the flag passed by, he made sure that everyone around him stood up and saluted. Rest in peace, Les
