WOOSTER “ Rosa L. Cowling, 85, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her home.
Rosa was born September 14, 1935 in Prattville, Alabama the daughter of Isaac and Lucinda Cheely Woods.   She was married to Frank Cowling, Jr. for 55 years before his death on June 26, 2007.
She had worked as an aide at the former Apple Creek Developmental Center and had also worked for Bell and Howell.   Rosa Was a member of the Second Baptist Church where she was a Deaconess, sang in the choir, was the Church secretary, a member of the Women ™s Missionary Society and a member of the Strivers Club.   She enjoyed writing poetry, was an artist, loved working puzzles and watching game shows, enjoyed reading and sewing.
Surviving are her children Earnistine Parker and Rita (Robert) Hamlet both of Orrville, Deborah Donald of Medina, Charlotte (Lowell) Stauffer, Anthony (Michelle) Cowling, Juanita (Bryant) Patrick and Shejuana Faye Harrington all of Wooster; God children Richard, Lorence, Austin, Roosevelt, Grayson, Douglas and Viola Price; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and God grandchildren and a brother Lonnie (Mildred) Stoudmire of Alabama.
In addition to her husband she was preceded by her parents, 2 infant sons, a son-in-law Gentle Forrest Parker, 6 great-grandchildren and siblings Jimmy, Julie, Edward and Ike Woods, Leanna Hall, and Arthur œBo  Jones.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster with Rev. Rickey Brown officiating.   Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:30 p.m.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Second Baptist Church.

    I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. Due to prior engagements, I will not be able to attend the services for her. I did want you to know that I did not know your Mother well, but from the few times that I did have that privilege, I knew that she was a beautiful lady, both inside and out ! Please accept my deepest condolences and your family will be in my prayers. May you all find peace and comfort, knowing that your Mother is now at rest with Jesus Christ, Our Risen Lord !
