WOOSTER Karen S. Walkerly, 61, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at her home.
She was born February 1, 1960 in Glomawr, Kentucky the daughter of Kenneth and Mabel Trent Feltner. She married Jimmy D. Brillo Allenbaugh on December 31, 2000. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2014.
Karen recently retired as a custodian from the Wooster City Schools. She was an avid dog lover, especially Border Collies.
Surviving are her siblings Kenneth (Suzanne) Feltner of Creston, Steven Feltner of Shreve and Roger Feltner of Orrville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Bruce Walkerly in 1992 and a sister Barbara Ann Feltner in 2003.
There will be no calling hours or services.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

Karen was so passionate about the students at Kean – especially those who struggled in any way. She was a friend to all there. She was so caring when my husband passed away. Having gone through that loss herself, she seemed to know just what I needed to hear. I am so glad I reminded her of that the last time we spoke. I told her how much she meant to me, and that I would never forget her kindness. I had no idea that would be our last conversation. She is already missed. Sending sympathy to her family and all of those who loved her.
Karen was wonderful to the students she took care of them has if they were her own. My daughter was very blessed to see her everyday at school. My daughter shares in our sadness. Aaliyah remembers helping her at school and all the praises she would give her for helping her. She was so good to the kids at school she is truely missed . She would often tell us she was going home to walk her dogs when she was leaving school in the afternoon. She always had a smile on her face even when the kids would drive her crazy. She will truely be missed.
Prayers to the family and friends of Karen. It was a pleasure to work with her during the past school year. We had some fun conversations talking about her retirement plans. She will be greatly missed.
We will miss your greetings and waves as we saw each other daily. We will miss your laugh and smile. We will miss your human nature that made you care about every living creature. You were truly a good friend and neighbor. Rest in Peace.

I had a Guardian angel here on earth I’d like to think of it as she got a promotion with a better view.
Karen and I share a birthday same day 4 years apart. Story as I was told was she wanted a life like doll at the age of four and they brought me home from the hospital. It was a joke me complaining when we were kids one cake two names mine never first. Even to the point to see which one said “ happy birthday “ to the other first.A few years back told her I finally must of matured because I realized that one day one of us would be celebrating a birthday alone. Told her “You had four good years without me I hope it’s you who gets many more.”
Karen was a pleasure to work with. She was always there when you needed her. I loved doing catering when she worked because she was ready to help. She will be missed.

Now from me we have a choice pick something that reminds you of Karen that makes you smile. Something she said. Something she did. Her laugh. Whatever it is hold on to it. We may have lost her but there’s a part of her alive in everyone she touched don’t let that die or she truly is gone.
For me it’s 4 leaf covers, Border Collies, scrabble and a thousand other things.
I know what I lost but I’m the better for having her in my life for as long as I have.

Karen, I’m going to miss you so much, I looked forward to seeing you every week for many years when I visited at Kean with my little therapy dog Jack. Jack would pull me into school looking for his best buddy Karen, she always had treats and pets for him. Karen took great pride in her job, the school was always spotless because of her. Karen was very kind to the kids.
Karen loved all creatures especially her dog Jack, she befriended a little homeless dog that eventually found a great home. I enjoyed our talks and our lunches together, I loved hearing you laugh. Karen I hope you and my sweet little Jack found one another and you are together .
My deepest condolences to Karen’s family and Karen’s dog Jack. Karen you were such a nice person and a good friend, I loved chatting with you every week and catching up online. I hope you are surrounded by your family and pets that have passed. I will never forget you. Love, Claudia
