WOOSTER “ Nancy Jane Morrow, 82, of Wooster passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her home.
Nancy Morrow was a vivacious, sharp, riot of a woman who passed peacefully in her home with her daughters by her side. She was the anchor of a family full of life, love and faith.
Nancy grew up in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey the daughter of Colonel Joseph Rutter, chief of the New Jersey State Police, and his wife Lorraine. She spent her younger years as a cheerleader, lifeguard, and thespian, then attended Otterbein University graduating with a Bachelor ™s degree. She met her husband Daniel Morrow, when she moved to North Canton for her first teaching job as a High School English teacher and drama coach. Nancy was a talented artist, book editor, choral singer and was generous throughout her life with her love and possessions. Over her marriage of 42 years she lived in Medina, Ohio and Hilton Head, South Carolina before settling in Wooster, Ohio after Dan’s passing in 2006.
Together with Dan, she raised four daughters: Wendy Smith {Mark} , Dana Bonezzi {Frank}, Jennifer Tobergte {Joe}, and Kylie Machacek {Brandon}. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Justin and Marla Smith; Jessica, Elise, Ethan and Alyson Bonezzi; Emory and Evlin Tobergte; Judah, Carolina, and Haven Machacek. Her husband Dan welcomed into heaven along with her sister Connie Walsh, parents Joseph and Lorraine and grandson Justice Machacek. Her life was celebrated by a small gathering of family on Monday August 30th.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Nancy’s name to Catholic Charities of Wayne County, 521 Beall Ave., Wooster, OH 44691.

  1. Dana and family, I am so sad to read about Nancy’s passing. I enjoyed visiting her every year to deliver her calendar. It is so difficult to lose a MOM…take care.

  2. Nancy was a fantastic teacher and person. She took a shy , backward girl in her English class at Jackson High, under her wing. She got me involved in Dramatics and turned everything around for me. I became a National Thespian and thoroughly enjoyed my high school years because of her. I am soooo very sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace Beautiful Lady❤️❤️❤️❤️

  3. I am so very sorry for the lose of your Mom. I am a former student. During a visit to Hilton Head we got together with Dan and Nancy and they showed us all around, told us best places to eat and what sites to see. We couldn’t have ask for a better tour guide. My condolences to all the family. May she Rest In Peace. Such a beautiful lady❤️❤️

  5. Nancy was my grandma. I called her Memaw for short. She was one of the best grandma’s you can ask for. I loved to hangout with her while we were together and we had a very special bond that we cherished together. Rest in peace, Memaw..
