Mary Louetta Wile, 70, of Wooster passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital due to complications of Covid 19.
She was born November 14, 1950 in Wooster to Harvey V. and Esta M. Himes Wile.   On September 17, 2007, she married Duane Smith.   He survives.
Mary Lou graduated from Northwestern High School and had worked for many department stores in Wooster, was store manager of Quality Farm and Fleet and retired from the O.A.R.D.C. after 30 years in the janitorial department.
Mary Lou loved Boston Terriers and the O.S.U. Buckeyes.   She was a very generous and caring person.   She had a mind of her own and she would let you know where you stood with her.   Mary Lou would tell stories of Larry and Joanne Funk and she liked her husband working for them.   She always had a kind work for James, Jodi and Julie.   Mary Lou will be deeply missed and loved forever.
Along with her husband, Mary Lou is survived by her children Andy (Andrea) Shearer, Jr., Amy Hlasta, Annette (Jamie) Staggs and Audrey (Jim) Calame; a very special granddaughter Ashley (Kory) Lippolis and her three children Hadley, Camron and Conner; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Fran Davis; brother-in-law Vernon Smith and her beloved Boston Terrier Belle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Gene Wile, who was former police chief of Shreve; and an infant daughter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.   Interment will follow in Smithville Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. So sorry to hear of her passing! She will truly be missed!! She was so fun at The Parlor restaurant and Russ and I were always glad to see Duane and Mary Lou. We loved our visits with the 2 of you and I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you Duane and all the family.

  4. Mary Lou worked as custodian in OARDC’s Reasearch Services Building…my location, too. I always enjoyed talking with her. She was kind and generous. And she made the best Christmas cookies!!! May God’s love and peace be with her family.

  5. I went to school with Mary Lou She was smart and a lot of fun She knew how to laugh and make others laugh I’m so sorry to hear of her passing and her family are in our thoughts and prayers She will be missed

  6. I went to school with Mary Lou. We had alot of fun in school. Most recently she would meet some of us classmates for lunch and we would catch up on everything. I will miss Mary Lou. Many prayers for all of her family.

  9. My sincere sympathy to my cousins Andy, Annette, Amy and Audrey losing a parent is such heart ache but time will heal you all. Be kind and good to each other that’s what your Mother would have wanted. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  10. It’s hard to belive the wonderful next door neighbor who I see every day is gone. One of the most giving, loving people I’ve ever met. Ms.Mary, you will be missed so very much. This neighborhood won’t be the same without you.
