Joe A. Conrad, 80, of Wooster passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Joe was born February 9, 1941 in Clay, West Virginia, the son of John Albert and Dollie T. Stout Conrad. On January 31, 1965 he married Rachel Grande. She survives.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Joe had been a welder for Babcox & Wilcox, retiring in 1993 after many years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, refinishing furniture, and restoring his 1978 Pontiac Bonneville.
Surviving in addition to his wife is his daughter Michelle Hutchison of Wooster; grandchildren Dechelle (Chris McNichols) Bishop of Shreve, Nicole Hutchison of Orrville, and Sebastian Hutchison of Wooster; great-grandchildren Peyton Pearson, Blake Bishop, Camden Bishop, Caleb Sobchik, Myah Davis, Keilani Davis, Audrina Woofter, and Jaelyn Purdy; sisters Mary Peterson of Tallmadge and Ruth Walker of Georgia; many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, œRuger .
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his siblings Damon Conrad, Joretta Butcher, John Conrad, Jr., and James Conrad.
Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5:00 “ 8:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster, on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10:00am with Rev. Stephen Moran officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Wooster.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster, on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10:00am with Rev. Stephen Moran officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Wooster.

Friends will be received at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5:00 “ 8:00pm.

  1. I am so saddened by the passing of my youngest brother, the last of my brothers. Although we lived miles apart, we stayed in touch and I loved him and will miss him very much. I am sure he is a great loss to all the family, especially his loving wife, Rachel. I am sorry that I cannot be there with you at this time.

    We are so sorry that we will not be able to attend the services. I have an important Drs appointment, or we would be there. Do know that we are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers. Love, Connie

  3. We are so very sorry to hear about Joe’s illness and passing. He had a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile. Although we no longer lived close, we thought of him and all your family often. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

  4. Michelle, Rachel and grandchildren I am sooo sorry for your loss. Joe is the last of my four brothers. I will miss him sooo much. I called him “MY LITTLE BROTHER” He liked that I have a note from him that I keep in my Bible where he signed it “your little brother” I called Joretta “My little sister” Oh how I miss her. PRAYERS FOR ALL OF YOU. I will not be there for calling hours but plan to come with Bill for services. God Bless.

  5. Dear Rachel and Michelle and Grandchildren I am soooo sorry for the loss of your loving Husband, Dad, and Pawpaw. He was the last one of my four brothers. I will miss him deeply. I called him “MY LITTLE BROTHER” He liked that for I have a note I received from him long ago that he signed “your little brother” I keep it in my Bible. I called Joretta “my little sister” I miss her so much.I plan to come with Bill to the services on Thursday but will not come to calling hrs on wed. PRAYERS to everyone. GOD BLESS.

  7. So sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. I did not know Joe but was a high school classmate of Ruth. My church had both Rachel & Joe on our prayer list and was praying for healing for both of them. Am so very sorry for Rachel and the family for this great loss. Prayers for comfort & strength for all of you.
