Patricia œPatty  M. Bartoleit, 78, of Wooster passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 due to complications of a vascular disease.
Patty, as everyone called her, was born on March 21, 1943 in Akron the daughter of George C. and Esther M. Sterner Murphy.
Left behind are V. José Bartoleit, her husband of over 54 years; sons Kevin M. Bartoleit, Joseph P. Bartoleit and Neil P. Firstenleit; grandsons Holden J.R. Bartoleit and Henry P.L. Bartoleit.
Patty met José in 1963 when both were working at General Tire in Akron.   In 1966, they wed at the St. Vincent Church also in Akron.   After the wedding, they moved to Venezuela were José was employed at a sugar cane plantation.   Their first son, Kevin was born in Venezuela.   In 1969, they returned to the US and lived in Columbus where second son, Joseph was born.   After a brief residence in Weston, WV, the family moved to Wooster in 1973.   Their third son, Neil was born here.   After the children were of school age, Patty attended Akron University as a non-traditional student, earning a Bachelor ™s degree in Arts.
Patty volunteered for People to People and Every Woman ™s House.   She was employed at the Family Learning Center and later at the Zion Lutheran Church, where she retired in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers; Terry A. and Michael P. Murphy.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 527 Beall Ave., Wooster with Rev. Stephen Moran officiating.   Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  1. Jose , I am so sorry about Patty’s passing. I have known all of you for years and am so sorry you have to endure her loss.

  4. How sad to hear this news. Condolences to all the family. We are so fortunate to call Patty, Jose and family our neighbors when we lived on McCance Circle together. No matter when or where we would see her over the years, her exuberance with life, her seemingly never-flagging smile and her infectious laugh was always part of the conversation. Cherish your memories.

  5. Our deepest condolences to Jose and family. We were so saddened to learn of Patty passing. Our families first met when we moved to Wooster in 1976. We will always remember her cheerful smile and laugh. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

    I would have been there to say goodbye to one of the sweetest ladies I knew.
    Jose and boys, you are in my prayers and youu have my deepest sympathy.
    I really loved your mom and she will be remembered fondly.
