David A. Specht, 62, of Wooster passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the Avenue at Wooster.
He was born March 22, 1959 in Wooster, the son of Paul and Donna Ullom Specht. David married Sharon Pugh on October 25, 2003. She survives.
David had worked at Bell & Howell for 14 years. He had also been a cab driver for Miller Cab for 7 years. David loved to fish and go golfing. He was an avid sports fan that especially loved football and professional wrestling. David enjoyed getting to know people, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Most importantly, David loved Jesus and spending time in worship. He and Sharon have been members of Wooster Nazarene church for 18 years.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his mother; children David A. Swiger and Marvin C. Swiger; 5 grandchildren; his siblings Steve (Kathy) Specht, Jim (Jill) Specht, and Lori Voltz.
He was preceded in death by his father and his son, Robert Swiger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 12:00pm at the Wooster Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Rd., in Wooster. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends will be received from 10:00am until the time of the service at the church on Thursday.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.

  3. The Chavers and Cantey families send their condolences to the Specht family…I still remember when we were lab partners, Dave would ask me every day what are you going to burn up today Greg? You will be missed by many Dave.

  4. We are so very sorry to hear of Dave’s going home. We loved getting to know him around the campfire at John and Shirley’s. He was such a great guy. He was always kind and soft spoken. We will miss him so much! We love you and are here for you.

  5. I had known Dave nearly all my life .We grew up across the street from each other . He taught me how to play checkers , chess and the card game war . We walked to grade school together many times . I enjoyed his company throughout school and adulthood .I was fortunate enough to see him several times a few years ago .My sympathy to his family , he will be missed by many people .

  6. It’s heartwarming to me to know Dave had a close relationship with Jesus. I knew him around age 16 where we worked together. He was an outstanding person who was kind, a faithful friend and a genuine man. Condolences to his family. I’m sure he will be missed, but you we meet again.

    Hi Sharon,

    Darrell & I had hoped to come to the funeral…unfortunately it is not possible. Darrell has a class to learn about his chemo treatment at 1:00 pm, in Canton OH, today. He has to leave around 11:30 AM to get there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We send love and condolences to the family. with love & many hugs, Trish Emerson

  10. Donna & family, so sorry for your loss. I was looking for the obituary of a friend when I saw the obit for David. Prayers for all of David’s family as you go through this time of grieving.
