SHREVE “ Cordelia A. œCory  Tate, 83, of Shreve passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster following a period of declining health.
Cordelia was born November 15, 1937 in Holmes County to the late Ralph and M. Lucille (Shoup) Franks and married Donald Tate on March 23, 1956.   Together they raised four daughters Shirley Figley, Betty Jean (Don) Horst, Connie (Kenny) Mullen and Joanne Tate. Cordelia retired as secretary for Church of the Saviour where she was also a member and was presented with the Church cornerstone.   She was a 1955 graduate of Big Prairie High School.   She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, sewing, playing cards and bingo.
Besides her husband and daughters she is also survived by 5 grandchildren Kyle (Kim) Figley, Sandee (Art Skufca) Horst, Shelly (William) Dickson, Heidi (Greg) Lomas and Chad (Angie) Mullen; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Doris (Ray) Nickle, Marilyn Sigler, Carolyn (Robert) Remington and Linda (Richard) Collins; brothers Tom (Betty), Gerald (Gloria), Larry (Bonnie Vaubel) and Kenny (Pat) Franks; sister-in-law Julie Franks.
Cordelia was preceded in death by great-great-granddaughter Emory Gray, son-in-law James Figley, sister Maxine (Donald) Miller and brothers Cecil (Kathie), Donald Wayne, Richard and Robert Franks, brother-in-law Ed Sigler.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare for the wonderful care Cordelia received.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the 2:00 p.m. Service on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Church of the Saviour, 480 Fry Road, Wooster with Pastors Brent and Jerry Durham officiating.   Burial will follow in the Moreland Cemetery.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. One of the joys of my ministry has been meeting families like Cordelia’s. Finding out we were linked from decades ago made me aware of God’s hand in our lives. Cordelia was a joy to visit and an inspiration for faith. My prayers are with the family as they celebrate her life. God Bless.
