WOOSTER “ John Taylor Redick, 60, of Wooster passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster.
John was born March 19, 1961 in Wooster the son of John D. and Janet M. Taylor Redick.   He married Karen S. Young on August 22, 1987.   She survives.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1979 and was a graduate of The Ohio State University in 1984 and was a life-long farmer.   John was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in New Pittsburg.
He served on the Board of Supervisors for the Wayne County Soil and Water District for 27 years and on the New Pittsburg Fire Department for 38 years.   He enjoyed woodworking and making crafts for family and friends and made many crafts with horse shoes.   John loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Karen, are his children Sarah (Jeramy) Holloway of Uniontown and Chatfield (Christine) Redick of Wooster; his father John D. Redick of Wooster; grandchildren Claire Young, Charlotte Holloway, Caden and Callie Redick; siblings Robbi (Kevin) Reed and William (Debra) Redick both of Wooster.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Derik Geitgey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the New Pittsburg Fire Dept., c/o Roger Kamp Treasurer, 1466 Perry Twp Road 35, Wooster, OH 44691 or to Ohio ™s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

  8. John was a big man inside and out who the community looked up to . l remember being involved in a auto accident. I felt very reassured when Big John and the NPFD arrived. He was also one of “Our Farmers” who we respected and appreciated. Strength ,hope and peace of mind is our wish for his family and friends.
