Edwin Arthur Allen, Sr., 68, of Wooster, passed January 15, 2022 at Wooster Hospital from complications of Covid.
He was born October 15, 1953 in Southampton, NY to Russell and Ila Schenck Allen. Ed attended High School in East Hampton, NY and graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX. He also attended Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Ed loved the Lord and pastored Holly Baptist Church in Leitchfield, KY and Harmony Baptist Church in Brooklyn, OH. He was currently serving as an associate pastor at North Wooster Baptist Church in Wooster. Ed loved to serve in the church, loved preaching God s Word but most of all, Ed loved family time, family gatherings and family in general. Ed and Roberta would have celebrated fifty years of marriage this November. Ed was an avid woodcarver and often gave demonstrations and taught classes. He loved the outdoors and did a lot of family camping. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and time alone with the Lord in the woods.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta and four children: Rebecca Allen, Russ (Heather) Allen, Bryan (Rose) Allen and Edwin (Gabriella) Allen, Jr. Ed had two granddaughters whom he loved dearly: Dakotah (21) and Penelope (3). Ed also had two loving fur-babies: Charlie and Gracie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 10:00 AM at McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster. Interment will follow in Wooster Cemetery. The service will also be live streamed on the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home Facebook page.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

We are thankful and grateful for knowing Ed. The common thread is Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have good memories with the whole family and will cherish them. Nothing but love and respect for Ed!

Ed was a dear childhood friend of mine. I went to school with him and roberta. He was a man of his word. Which is a rarity in todays world.
Ed was such a Godly, compassionate man. We will never forget him.

After gathering every year with Ed and Roberta in Wheeling during the Carving Show we will miss his calm and quiet presence. Many members enjoyed viewing his carvings and the carving counseling tips he shared

In one word Ed was cool. It was always a joy to listen to him and Roberta talk about Christ Our God. I’m surely convinced he’s enjoying himself right now in His presence.
