Violet Nadine Findley, 97, of Wooster died on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Wooster Community Hospital.
She was born May 5, 1924 in Lawrence, KS to Raymond and Daisy Parsons Carr.   On November 6, 1943 she married William R. Findley, Jr.   He preceded her in death in 2005.
Violet was a devoted wife and mother.   She worked for the USDA as secretary in Bellsville, MD and then later at Parkview Elementary School in Wooster.   She was a member of the Wooster United Methodist Church, Wooster Women ™s League, The Viola Thorne Club at the OARDC, past president of the Welcome Wagon and had volunteered with the Wooster Community Hospital Auxiliary.   She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, playing bridge and tennis.
She is survived by her daughters Gloria J. (Paul) Wirt of Wooster and Barbara L. Rydell of AL; grandchildren: Doug (Audra) Wirt, Shelly Wirt (Steve Schaller)  Reeves, Bryan (Stacy) Tittle, Sara Rydell (Brian) Mitchell, Emily Rydell (Chad) Neihause and Ben (Natalie) Rydell.   She enjoyed spending time with her eleven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.   She is also survived by her  siblings Ida Bartz and Connie Pritchett both of KS.
Along with her husband, Violet was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Louisa Carr.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster.   The service will also be livestreamed on the McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home Facebook page.
