John M Grassman, 70, died on February 12, 2022 at West View Healthy Living Center in Wooster.
He was born January 25, 1952 in Millersburg, Ohio to Herman and Betty (North) Grassman. He was a resident of Wooster for 45 years.
As a youth, John was active in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed their backpacking and camping trips. His favorite experience was hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. Despite facing health challenges most of his life, John always displayed his quick and unique sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, especially Western novels. John was a lifelong avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sisters Beverly Beauvais (Don, deceased), Barbara Pannunzio (Joe), Mary Beth Whalen (Frank), Sandy Grassman (Kelly Connors) and his brothers Jim (Beth), Jerry (Carrie), and Chuck (Sandy), and many nieces and nephews.
John will be missed by his family and friends. The family is grateful to the staff at West View Healthy Living Center for the compassionate care they provided John.
A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date for immediate family.

Although I’ve been gone for 49 years and never got to know you all personally, I have clear and fun memories of my brother, Geoff, and I playing with Johnny and Sandy at the Fair Farm, and at the earlier reunions when we pack of hooligans vs the Canton cousins was the event of the day for the under 12’s. My prayers for comfort and peaceful transition are offered for you all. The picture of John shows such a sweet countenance. God is good.
