On a cool Wednesday morning, February 16, at 6:35am Rosalynd A  DiScipio was called home to paradise.   She passed peacefully at home with family at her side.   For many years Rose was trapped in a body that did not listen, due to a progressive neurological disease, however, Rose is free of these earthy shackles and flying with angels.
Without a doubt, she was met by her lover, Joseph A DiScipio, who passed in 2008, and her parents Tony and Betty Yacapraro as well as many other friends and relatives that were eagerly awaiting her arrival.
Rose was born in Wayne County in May of 1941, she graduated nursing school and married Joseph in September of 1963.   They leave 5 children, Denise DiScipio, Vincent (Barbara) DiScipio, Katherine DiScipio Theresa DiScipio, and Maryrose DiScipio As well as 8 grandchildren, William (Yue) Taylor, Lindsey Flack, Regina (Sam) DiScipio-Vanni. Angela DiScipio, Dominic DiScipio, Rebecca DiScipio, Joseph Tomkins, and Thomas  DiScipio. they also leave 5 great grandchildren, Melvina, Ethan, Jupiter, Deklynn, and Ellyott.
Rose worked for many years with the developmentally disabled as the director of nursing at the Gruder Foundation.   She was also the nurse for Ida Sue, where she retired from the workshop in 2003
Rose leaves many behind who will mourn for the absence she leaves however, she would not wish you to dwell in the sorrow, but celebrate the life. While here, Rose loved spending time with family and her grandchildren, she also enjoyed music, old movies and musicals.   She traveled frequently to the beaches of the Outer Banks and enjoyed watching the ocean.   Trips to the zoos, museums, and aquariums were also a favorite past time.   She also enjoyed ice cream immensely.   She will be greatly missed.

  2. My heart aches for her children and grandchildren, but rejoices for her as she entered paradise free of pain and disease. She has joined Jesus, her husband, parents, brother and so many other friends and family that were awaiting her arrival I am sure. I won’t be able to make the services as I am out of the state until Tuesday, but know that my heart and thoughts have been with you since I heard the news.

  4. I’m sorry about Linda. But also happy for her. I’m sure Joe & her are having a grand time. We had so much fun with your family. Meals together & playing cards. Picking blueberries. Mom & dad thought so much if you’re family and feeling was mutual. Fond memories. Also that was a wonderful obituary. Have you in my thoughts & prayers. Fly high & Rest In Peace. Love you all.

  6. To Linda’s family,
Dear Linda will be very much missed by her classmates of WHS ’59. It was so wonderful seeing her a few years back when her loving daughter brought her to our class reunion. Thanks to your family for the very obvious love and care you gave her during her long illness. Blessings and Peace to you all.

  7. The Warden’s on the floor! Will be a reminder of a call out when Rose stepped out of her office at the workshop and she would say you better believe it. Rose, you will be missed by those who you helped at Nick Amster Workshop; and how you managed to keep the one’s that were sick home and not let them come into work.

  14. We are so sorry to just now finding out about your mother’s passing. We knew both Joe and Linda quit well when we lived in Wooster, we then moved to Indiana. We are deeply indebted to both of them for allowing Fran and our daughter Chris to stay at their home for a week while Fran went to Ashland College. One could not find a better couple than those two. God will keep them close because they were good souls.
