He was born February 21, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to Colin and Margaret Fadely Haas.   He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.   While at OWU he was the President of his fraternity Beta Theta Pi and lettered in two sports – football, baseball.   He met his true love, Marilyn, at Ohio Wesleyan University and on August 6, 1960, he married Marilyn Sayer Ellis in Elmira, New York and began a beautiful marriage of 61 years together.
Barry worked for the Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) for 18 years.   He and his family moved around the country as he continued to develop sales for the manufacturer.   In 1977, he accepted a position with US Medical in Denver, Colorado which would start a 34 year relationship with the œCentennial State and the community of Boulder.   He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was mobilized as a reservist during the œBerlin Airlift in the heart of the Cold War as an air traffic controller stationed in Etain, France.   He was most proud of his children and grandchildren watching them grow into adults of their own.   Barry was also very proud of his community involvement in his childrens ™ high school years as Fairview High School Booster President and served as a Deacon of First Presbyterian Church.   In May of 2010, Barry and Marilyn moved back to Ohio to be closer to their immediate family.   In August 2019, they resettled in Wooster, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn, children Dan Haas of Camarillo, CA; Christine Haas (Greg Parnell) of Laramie, WY;   David Haas (Patrice) of Kahuku, HI; and Doug Haas (Heidi) of Wooster, his sister Pegge Warwick (Ed) of Dayton and seven wonderful grandchildren.
