WOOSTER “ Gerald E. œMose  Yates, 85, of Wooster passed away peacefully at his residence after a brief illness.   He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.
He was born to Stewart Oscar Thomas and Alice Buchanan Yates on June 24, 1936.   He married Eunice (Leighty) Yates on September 24, 1955.   Mose enjoyed feeding all the wildlife and hunting all of his life.   He had also been a big fisherman all of his life and loved to garden and grow his own garlic.
He was employed by Frito-lay in the Maintenance Dept. retiring after 44 years.   At work or at home Mose could fix anything and everything.   If someone needed something fixed they came to see Mose.
He is survived by his wife Eunice Leighty Yates; his five children Jackie (Yates) Beckler, Gary (Laurie) Yates, Linda (Bill) Blevens, Danny (Valarie) Yates and Tim (Tina) Yates; 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; and his good fishing buddy Corky Boreman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
At his request there will be no services.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.
The family would like to thank LifeCare Hospice for all their care.

  5. So sorry about the loss of uncle Mose. I always remember how much fun he was . Always a big smile & contagious laugh . There when he was lending a helpful hand at Frito-Lay when we worked together . I remember how he would light up when he talked about his family. Cherish the many wonderful memories together. May each of you find peace and GODS comfort at this difficult time of healing. Heaven got a good man

  6. Eunice, I am really sorry to hear of the loss of Mose, what a really awesome husband, father and friend. I really enjoyed working with him at Frith. To your sons that I worked with too…my deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry for your loss Eunice and the Yates family … He was always an amazing man and very polite and loving … I have many memories from all thru my life with you guys and loved every one of them….. He will forever be in my heart and never forgotten…. Keep your head up an that beautiful smile of yours on your face Eunice you know Moses would def want you to continue smiling n being happy …. And that goes for all of the Yates family as well….. But much love and condolences sent your way from me I love u Eunice and the Yates family……
