Eleanor Rose Harvey, 87, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2022 at Smithville- Western Care Center with her daughter at her side.
Eleanor was born March 16, 1934 to Florence (Berger) and Orie Blough of Wooster. She graduated from Wooster High School Class of 1952. On November 26, 1953 she married Ernest Harvey at Zion Lutheran Church. Eleanor was very strong in her faith as a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, belonged to WELCA, was a Stephen Minister and was a member of the prayer chain. She worked 37 years at Wee Care Center as a Pre-School Teacher and cook’s aide. Eleanor enjoyed crafting, reading and taking nature walks. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Karen (John) Hoyes of WV, and two grandchildren, Travis (Sami) Hoyes of FL, and Katie Hoyes (Bruce Alfonso) of WV. Also survived by daughter-in-law Sherry Harvey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, her son Robert, and sisters Elizabeth and Marjorie.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster, is assisting the family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster.

  4. We are so sorry to lose Aunt Eleanor. We are soo glad we got to talk to her before she passed. Prayers for you Karen, John, Katie and Travis. She will be missed. I treasure our visit we had with you all in 2006.

  5. So sorry to see this loss. I was a Wee Care mom and Mrs. Harvey was the best! We went to church at Zion Lutheran, too. She can rest with the saints, she was one on earth!
