Ivan K. Purdum, 79, of Chillicothe passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Ohio ™s Hospice Lifecare in Wooster, Ohio.
He was born April 14, 1942 in Chillicothe, Ohio the son of Robert and Ardath Fulton Purdum.   On August 20, 1967 he married Judy E. Walter who survives.
Ivan worked as a forklift operator for the Chilpaco side of Mead Paper for 42 years.   He retired in 2002.
Ivan enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan, and enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes.   He especially loved his home and mowing his yard on his John Deer tractor.
Besides his wife Judy, he is survived by his two daughters: Nicole (Mitch) Sleek of Wooster, Ohio and Lori Purdum of Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Grandchildren: Sydney (Kevin) White of Green Ohio, Olivia (Logan Ickes) Sleek of Wooster, Ohio, Caleb (Chasity Privik) Cantrell of Hudson, Florida, and Hayley Sleek of Wooster, Ohio. A great grandson: Karter Cantrell. And a sister in law: Cristina Purdum of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ted and Jerry Purdum.
Calling hours will be held at the Fawcett-Oliver-Glass and Palmer Funeral Home 77 E. 5th St. Chillicothe, OH 45601 from 1-3 pm on Saturday, March 19th 2022.
Arrangements are under the direction of McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home in Wooster, Ohio.
