  6. Bobby’s family was on my paper route. He was a friendly and humorous kid; about two years younger than I. For a couple of years, he would accompany me as I finished my paper route. We talked about stuff young boys talk about. I enjoyed his company. Upon finishing my paper route and before parting ways, we would visit the gas station at Pittsburgh Avenue and Palmer Streets. I would buy a cherry soda pop for me and an orange soda pop for him and a pack of salted peanuts for each. He told me that if the peanuts were placed in the soda pop, it tasted even better. He was correct. To this day, I think of Bobby each time I pour my peanuts into soda pop. Some friends remain in one’s mind a lifetime. He was one of those friends. God bless him and his loved ones.
