Nina Ruth Benek, 92, of Wooster died on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Danbury of Wooster.
She was born March 27, 1930 in Monroe County to Clarence Sr., and Louise Schaub Yoss.
Nina was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church, had worked as a beautician and retired from Rubbermaid.   She enjoyed gardening and quilting.
She is survived by her children Rick (Kathie) Hammond of Smithville, Denny (Ellen) Hammond of Wooster, Pamela (William) McCorkle of Sun City, FL; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and sisters Donna Campbell of Shelby and Pearl Swain of Canton.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Benek in 2012; son Doug Hammond and brothers Bernard Yoss and Clarence Yoss, Jr.
Private family services will be held in Crown Hill Cemetery on Seville Rd, one half mile South of Sterling Rd. in Sterling.
McIntire, Bradham & Sleek Funeral Home, 216 E. Larwill St., Wooster is assisting the family.

  2. I always enjoyed Nina’s sense of humor,,,,she could give as well as take…I had the pleasure of knowing her thru the Widow Widowers and Friends group….and she always talked and praised her family…and her sports teams….may she RIP…

  3. I had always looked forward to talking to Nina when I walked the neighborhood. I enjoyed her wit, candor, and sense of humor. Deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
